Brotherhood Ministry
As men in the Lord, God has called you to be the head of your family and to render unlimited support to your family and church. As part of the brotherhood, you will receive practical instructions on how, as men, to lead your family and support your church the way God instructed us to do. We also come together to fellowship and participate in sports activities such as basketball, bowling, skating and other various activities. When you join the church, you automatically become a part of the brotherhood, so come out and take an active part in what God is doing with the men of God at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church.
Sisterhood Ministry
The sisterhood is an exciting fellowship where we learn how to become virtuous women of God. Through our fellowship with one another, we experience a closeness between sisters in Christ, and share our testimonies of victory that God has given. We visit the sick, bereaved, and down hearted. We have an exciting nursing home ministry and participate in various activities such as bowling, skating, etc.
Music Ministry
The music ministry at Mount Transfiguration Baptist Church consists of the Youth Choir, the Voices of Joy, the Senior Choir and the Male Chorus. As you have probably witnessed in one of our services, our choirs are very inspirational. We add spiritual spice to the service. We don't just sing, we minister the Word of God through songs under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you have a talent to sing and enjoy singing, come out and be a part of this ministry.
Musicians Ministry
As musicians, we help make and keep the tone of the service through the ministry of music. We believe that as we play under the anointing, that every wicked and demonic spirit is loosed from the lives of God's people. In the same fashion as when David played and drove the evil spirit from Saul. This is a ministry that requires a lot of dedication and commitment to the work of the Lord. So, if God has given you a talent with an instrument don't just sit on it, come out and glorify God with it as part of the Musician Ministry.
Sound and Tape Ministry
Christians across the world can enjoy cassette tapes from this ministry. This ministry is responsible for recording church services on tapes. We also monitor the sound during the service through advanced technical equipment. If you have a talent or gift in this area come and be a part of the technical ministry.
Usher Ministry
Ushers play one of the most important parts of the service since we are one of the first people that a person sees. We set the tone of the service by being courteous, helpful, warm greeters. This is a ministry of service and order. We help keep a flow of order in the services as we serve through the ministry of ushering. So if God has laid this ministry on your heart, come out and be a part of this ministry that serves.
Drama Ministry
In the drama ministry we minister the word of God through the art of dramatization. It is a very effective way to minister. We minister to the congregation here at Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church. If God has given you a gift in acting, or you want to come and learn, come and be part of the ministry that teaches the word through drama
Pastoral Care Ministry
Our pastor, Clarence Hill, is a very anointed and inspirational pastor, but in order for him to be as inspiring as he is, he has to spend much time before the Lord in prayer and in the word. This ministry supports the pastor's necessities to allow him time to concentrate on the needs of the church. The ministry of the pastoral care includes pulpit preparation, providing refreshments, maintaining the pastor's office, robes etc.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
The Lord said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer." This church was actually founded on prayer. We pray for the members of our church, the pastor, members of the body of Christ, our communities, children and schools as well as our nation. You are invited out to take part in this exciting ministry as we lift up the body of Christ.
Youth Ministry
The youth ministries available to you and your children are Sister 2 Sister, Brotherhood, Junior Ushers, Youth Choir, and the Drama Ministry. Jesus said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven". We minister to the children at a level they can understand. We teach them the word of God and show them how to apply it to their daily lives. We help build strong Christian values so they may be people of integrity. We also encourage them to utilize their talents, gifts and abilities to the glory of God. In the youth ministry we help them to realize that they are the church of today, children are being healed, saved, and filled with the Holy Ghost. We go skating, bowling, camping, have lock ins, go witnessing, visit various amusement parks etc. Come and be a part of this exciting ministry.
Each One Reach One
The Each One Reach One Ministry is in charge of planning our fifth Sunday services. The fifth Sunday is "casual dress" day with food and fellowship immediately after service. This ministry coordinates the events, invite special guests, plan menus, etc. One of the ministry's goals is to encourage members and friends to reach out and invite others to visit our church. All guests are made to feel at home through the love and service shown by this ministry. If your gift is planning and coordinating exciting events this is the ministry for you.
Communication Ministry
The Communication Ministry consists of the Newsletter and the Administrative Staff. The purpose of this ministry is to provide clerical support as well as clear and concise open communication between the church family. We report events and accomplishments affecting our members and friends. If you have a strong clerical background and don't mind using your gift for the glory of God, this ministry is for you. Come and be a part of God's administrative team.
Encouragement Ministry
There are times when everyone needs a word of encouragement, or just a call to say hello. As a member of the Encouragement Ministry that's just what we do. If we haven't seen a member at church in a while or we notice that someone needs a little cheer, we are there to offer words of encouragement vocally or by sending a card. We even send words of encouragement to the church body through the Communications Ministry. If you love people and have the gift or the desire to encourage others, then this is the ministry for you.
Praise Team Ministry
"Let everything that has breath praise ye the Lord." The Praise Team ushers in the Holy Spirit through songs of praise, songs of worship, words of exaltation, and testimonies. This ministry is in charge of devotional services every third Sunday and at other times when needed. If you love praising the Lord; if you love worshipping the Lord; if you don't mind telling of God's goodness, then this is the ministry for you.
Fellowship Dinner Ministry
This ministry is in charge of planning menus, preparing food and decorum during our special events. The menus for Pastors' Appreciation, Church Anniversary, etc. are coordinated through this ministry. Come and be part of us.
Transportation Ministry
The Transportation Ministry is a very important segment of our church body. This ministry keeps our youth and Senior Citizens that are temporarily out of transportation involved in church activities. Rides, via the church van, are provided to regular church services as well as special events. If you like driving while also helping our youth and seniors this is the ministry for you.
Christian Education Ministry
The Education Ministry consists of Bible Study, Sunday School, Orientation Ministry, and Vacation Bible School. We use the word of God to equip believers with the necessary tools needed to live a victorious Christian life. We provide training to help you get started in your new life as a Christian and to help you develop towards Christian maturity. We orient you on your benefits, duties and responsibilities to the body of Christ. We provide support and encouragement and nurturing. If you have been anointed with the gift of teaching, we invite you to come and use your gift for the glory of God. We are the ministries that minister.
Nursery Ministry
The nursery staff provides care and teaching during the worship service. They strive to teach the word of God to the infants and toddlers while in their care.
